Jacking Points for P5

I was searching for jacking points today and was finding the shop manual a little ambiguous.

For the front: there's a little round bulge offset to the driver side that seems like it was placed for a jack point. The shop manual says "on the cross member". Unsure if that was the right point.

For the rear: There's a square like bulge rear of the sway bar. Also seems like its there for some reason (possibly jacking point). Manual also says "on the cross member".

Anyone confirm or deny these locations?

Pics would be much appreciated.

I always just use the little metal lip running under the length of the car. Stick a block of wood in between the jack and the car to help prevent excess damage. Chances are it will bend, but what's it matter? You can't see it from above and if you use the same jacking points, then it won't get too bad.

UHH, okay. That is by far the dumbest shit ive read today. How about this instead:

Just jump onto your fucking hood with blunt force and if you jump in the same spot itll only make one dent! So when you go to the car wash itll only hold a small amount of water. Dude, youre dumb, simple and im quite sure "punch - drunk" too.:wackit:

Umm I dunno who you were replying to or if you even have the right post...but if so, would you mind explaining?

there are specific areas for jacking the car. i don't like the idea that if you bend something the first time......check the owners or shop manual. the points for all for corners are listed. dont mess up your car......even underneath!

Yeah I know, I mean it's not totally bent to shit but it looks rather useless anyhow. Oh well :o The shop manual shows using the center of the crossmember for front and rear jacking points.

Murda - the points you've described are what I use. They also sound like what's described by the manual.
