Not your fault, I did the tires before reading this post. Luckily I only bent it like 5 mm just enough to see it bend.

Anyway, looking for ideas
The previous pics from the shop manual don't show the crossbar that stop you from reaching that big tubular u-shaped member.
Anyway I got a 3' long 2x10 centered it on the crossbar and jacked
You can't see the bar in the pick below because of the 2x10.
Rear went fine like the manual shows.
Anyway, what's everybody else doing?

For the front jacking position

If you get up under your car and look at the structural member that runs parallel with the car, there is a small block of rubber mounted to the underside. That is where the picture is telling you to jack up the car. Once you find it, it will seem pretty obvious that you use it to jack up the car.

My problem has been, I have a cheap jack that barely fits under this jacking point (Racing Beat Springs on a P5) and when the jack is fully raised, I can get a jack stand in on the driver side on it's lowest setting, but can't get the jack in on the passenger side at all.

As far as the rear one, there is a small metal tab that doesn't have any other obvious function right in the center there. I use it to jack up the rear all the time and do not have any issues.

When you say parallel do you mean going front to back or side to side.
The tubular member in the 2nd pick posted from the shop manual would be great, but my jack will never reach that. There is a box type beam running side to side directly under it, not shown in the pic.
I guess I could stop being lazy and do one side at a time up front and then the rear. The beam with the added 2x10 worked fine though, I was just curious what everyone else did.

You're right about the beam going across. I asked my mechanic about using that as a jack point, and he said that would be ok as well. (Bracing it with a block of wood looks like an even better idea). He pointed out that theres like a little round 'tumor' thing sticking out from it at one point and that that's also a great spot for jacking the car up. It's a little closer to the front, and a little off center, but he said it would work great as a jack point to do the whole front end. (Pictured in my first pic from the shop manual - i just now realized what that pic is trying to show :D It's a side view of exactly that - a jack lifting up the car from the rounded spot)
