How is the Protege5 for a 6 footer?
Hi, Sorry guys for asking so many questions regarding the protege5. I just want to be 100% sure I want this car, because I'm going to be paying big money for the next 3~4 years.
I am a 6 foot 1 inch tall guy. How is the drive for you tall folks? |
Im same size as you
You wont have any problems with protege 5. thrust me. |
I don't know about the thrust, but I will trust you. Thanks a lot!

Same here...I am aslo 6'4 and have plenty of head room in my MP3, as a matter of fact that was a big selling point for me. I was really surprised that such a small car had so much head room.:bt:

6'1" no headroom problems... even with the sun/moonroof... I wish my Dad's 626 was this good!

I'm nearly six foot and my brother is six three and neither find any problems. It is suprisingly roomy for the size. The best advice is to go sit in it. Take one for a spin.

The guys in the back seat like that they have enough leg and head room as well. Of course the other choices include a couple of Jeep Cherokees that are really bad in leg room for back passengers and have tiny rear doors. |
I am 6-1 and getting in and out with ease...actually, I was originally looking to buy a 2002 Civic...but among the long list of things I discovered I didnt like about that car, was the fact that I had NO head room at all.
I was impressed with the space inside the P5 from the beginning. :bt: |

space: the final frontier
I'm just a bit over six feet, and I, too, have plenty of room for
my head and legs. It seems strange, though, that when the seat is positioned for maximum leg comfort, the steering wheel is too far away, and when the steering wheel is in the right place, the seat is too close for the pedals to be comfortable! I've got things set up in-between right now, and that's working out OK. The backseat is adequate for two people, if you're not going far. Actually, it's quite comfy, if you can push the front seats forward far enough. Three can fit in the rear if they're friendly. There are three seatbelts in the back. Cargo room is bountiful! With the rear seat folded down, you can carry tons of stuff. And with the front passenger seat pushed all the way forward, you can fit a six-foot stepladder in the car and still get the tailgate down. Not bad for a car that's actually a little shorter than my '93 Protege. Space isn't a problem in the P5. |
Space
I myself am only 5'-11" 145lbs, and my MP3 is without a doubt comfortable for me. Just to prove the point though, I have 2 friends that are big guys. One is 6'-2" 250lbs, and the other is 5'-11" and about 240lbs. Several times in the past few months, we have had my car packed with 5 people including these 2 guys. Usually they end up sitting one behind the other. Now, I'm not saying this thing is the size of an Audi A8L or anything, but they both commented on having ample room if not suprising ample room from the small looks of the car. If space is your main concern, buy a Ford Taurus wagon or a minivan. If space comes just secondary to having a great looking, sporty, great handling car....then your on the right track!!!:blue:

I'm a shorty at only 5' tall, so I find it VERY VERY comfy to sit in. On the other end of the scale is my bf who is 6' tall (yes I like my tall men!) and he has yet to encounter space problems in the P5. We have enough room to fold down the seats in the back and throw in our snowboards or have 3 seated nicely in the back. He has a Type-R and I actually find that there is absolutely NO space for a passenger to sit behind him in his car (not even me!). Mazda has really accounted for everyone's seating preferences! I'm glad I have the P5:blue:
