Hi, New member here

Hi, I just signed up since I'm getting married and my fiance has a protege and I'll soon be working on it. My current car is a '95 BMW M3 and I do all the work on it myself so I'm looking to get and give a lot of info on maintenance and performance mods in the future.

1st question I have is, my fiance's car is a '99 Protege with 35K miles. What maintenance / mods are must-haves. Also, I know in the BMW world, Bentley is the prefered maintenance manual. What is the maint. manual of choice with these cars.

Thanks in advance.

welcome to the forum. Be sure to check out the VENDOR section for anything you may be looking for parts-wise.

Mazda service manuals are available online and secretly through pm. (wink)

I would just give the car a good once-over and you should be fine. Proteges are very reliable cars....unless you buy a Mazdaspeed!! Those things fall apart if you fart in them.

WELCOME to the club......what all do you have done to your E36?
I miss my E30 M3.....the protege's are fun cars though, easy to work and great to autocross.

yeah man welcome aboard, sweet looking bimmer, proteges aegood autocross cars, till you turbo them, lol then its just all wheel spin, :)

when I go FI then its track time only for me, autocross is NOT a substitue for real road course time....its a filler for when you dont have the $$ for tracking...
