Help with SRI
If I were to buy this
http://www.arospeed.com/product_info...roducts_id=113 for my 03 LX, do I also need one of these? http://www.arospeed.com/product_info...roducts_id=194 |
I wouldn't waste your time or money on that intake...it was $60+ dollars.
You should go on ebay and look for a 2.0L mazda CAI and buy one of those for $48 SHIPPED. It will be a much bigger improvement and you won't have to buy generic brackets and so forth to make everything mount up. |
Ok, so I notice the SRI's on eBay don't come with that adapter thing, so that means I don't need any adapters or anything for any SRI, right?
And what the hell are those carbon heat shields on eBay? Anything worth having?

That looks pretty cool.
ask them for a picture of it on a 1.8L protege first....I bet you can't get one!! It looks like junk to me....well LOOKS nice, but It works like junk.
So anyway... SRI... no extra parts needed (adapters, etc.), right?
shouldn't be...mine didn't need anything but I have the 2.0L
Cool, I got a 2.0 too. Thanks for all the help.
I don't see why you would need that adaptor bracket? The MAF and throttle body both can be easily attached to with connectors and clamps. I'd take Rod's advice on the cheap e-bay intakes, I've heard good things about them.
yeah, I run it on my car and it works great. I wish I could relocate my coolant overflow bottle a little more securely.
I just picked up an Injen, so I'll be getting rid of my eBay SRI. As long as there's no decline in performance after the switch, the old intake will be needing a new home.
