Help ,Factory seats are dying

This must be a problem with all stock seats ,I now have 18,000 kms on my 2001 LX2.0 and the seat is starting to lose its support on the back and the seat pad . I had the same problem on my 92 DX . The main problem is lumbar support . Does anyone have any suggestions for this . I used MX3 seats in my 92Dx ,this worked great but i don't think they will fit in the 2001 .

hehheh. You really wanna know what I think about this? :D

I say go with some nice Cobra Opus seats. Very beautiful seats. Also used in the new WW Project MP3. The universal sliders can fit the Pro's.

Check them here:

So if you've got the money than these would be awesome :D

seats

I have 29800kms and i have noticed the seats get softer but they stopped at a point. u can take it to a upholstry shop and get more padding.

P5 seats

I think that the P5 seats suck big time...Compared to Honda seats, these offer NO support at all....A bit dissapointing...
The fabric is nice though!

While Chad and the guys are great over at Sube Sports (just around the corner from me) their prices are not the best.

Maybe it's just skinny ole me, but the seats in my 90LX are the most comfortable seats i ever had for long drives especially....i know thats still not saying much....but i've driven across this country 6 times and i never had any back problems.....shit i took my moms 93 Acura Vigor, full leather plush interior to Las Vegas and those seats SUCKED for long drives....within 2 hours i was cramping up......

Malcolm,
What all did you have to do to get the MX3 seats to fit in there? are they a drop in? i know they are about 1.5 to 2" lower than the pro seats, but i'm tall, so that may help.

I have to say the support for spirited driving in the Protege is less than adequate but for regular use I suppose okay. My beef is the headrest. My last car was an '88 Thunderbird Turbocoupe with Ford/Recaro combo seats. They were very comfortable and the headrest could be rotated slightly and you could rest your head as you drove without staring at the roof (hence the word headrest!) I don't understand why automakers can't design seats like those babies!! Would a set of Honda seats fit into a Protege or am I better off blowing the dough on A/M seats?

im not sure swapping from the civic is feasable. the tracks would need to be swapped too. i highly doubt it'd be a straight bolt in. and after all that trouble you could have had some racing seats or some more comfortable ones
