how about 8500 and a 99 protege, engine runs and would only need some minor body work to at-least make it a good daily driver........?

Roddimus Prime September-17th-2006 11:52 PM

how about $9500 and buying my p5 so I can go collect my new car? I'll even drive it up to Chicago and you can pick it up there.

Jackelope September-18th-2006 05:52 AM

i have the slightest idea about getting it to canada! hmm.

kableguy September-18th-2006 08:10 PM

alright i dono what to do, p5 or p es? hmmmm what would be better to race with? im leaning to a 2003 protege es but now i need to know what i can do to make it fly! ive drove a sentra se-r spec-v lately and that is one hell of a car (its the fucken ugliest thing ive ever seen) but it goes like hell! what do i do to a 2L proto to make it do that and more? turbo or engine swap? is there any crate engines out there that will fit? like a 2.3 or 2.5L or is turbo the way to go???

KrayzieFox September-18th-2006 08:46 PM

If you're buying any kind of Protege to race ... don't buy one at all. It's possible to make it fast, with a turbo kit being your best bang for the buck (and easiest to accomplish ..) but it's still not very cost-effective. The cars are simply not meant to go that fast without serious modifying ...

Engine swaps are not very common, and there are very few options available that will simply drop in and bolt up without much modifying. Turbo is the way to go, but you're very limited without rebuilding the internals as well, so let's just say that in order to make a Protege "race capable" you're lookin at a pretty good sum of money.

ya im down, its worth the money to me, that car kicks ass, what else looks better then a speed protege?

kableguy September-19th-2006 05:30 AM

kid told me to consider it sold. I'm just waiting him to put the check in my hand. If he doesn't come through by this time next week I'm dumping it off at carmax.
