Have you guys noticed this?

Have any of you noticed on your P5 when you get in the car, close the door, then start the engine, the button for the driver's side window is lit up where it says "auto"? None of the other dash lights are on. This happens with the headlights and dome lights off. Not sure if mine's the only one that does this. I haven't checked the manual yet. Just noticed on my way to work. After a few minutes I noticed the window button light was off. Probably a built in feature. Just curious.

yeah mine does it too...

I wish all 4 of them lit up a little

I wish that I could operate the other 3 windows on my driver's side when the child lock button is pressed. I have to keep it down because it took the dog 1 car ride to figure out that if he puts his paw there, the window goes down... only I find myself constantly pressing that button to adjust the windows.

On a similar note... anyone open the two back windows about 6 inches and try to go about 70 mph... the turbulence in the back starts this god-aweful pounding.

Yea, i also noticed that this car sucks ass to keep your windows like halfway down when driving. Usually on my other cars i can put all windows down like half way and the air will flow geneally nicely but on my p5 'turbulence' as u said sucks. also, i hate the fact that when i turn the child saftey button on for the windows, i loose contol too. i dont have kids, and im only 18, but still, hah. i usually only use the button for when after i wash my car, ill turn it on so no one rolls down the windows (not even me) and leave littke water streak when it gets rolled back up.

Oh yah.. it's damed annoying.. distorts ma music too!!!

If you have a moonroof, put it on tilt and it should alleviate that problem. Gives a nice draft on the back of your neck too! =)

I remember them saying something about the light up button in the brochure. Kind of helps me find the damn thing when I'm too stupid to just feel for it. Kind of hard to miss.

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN!!!

Even if you do it with one back window, the same thing happens, it's annoying

I've been annoyed with the back window turbulence as well, and after a lot of raising and lowering windows, the best solution to reduce back window turbulence is to actually open your front windows a little. Don't even need to open really big up front, just a 1/2 - 1" opening will reduce the thumping to the back window greatly. Even just opening one of the front windows will help a lot.

Any aerodynamic student care to explain why this helps? :D

More on Turbulence

I think that the turbulence I'm experiencing might be compounded because I always have the back seat down (so the dogs have plenty of room to snot up the windows). I've experimented with the moonroof and the front window and it only gets a little better... The one thing they coulda done to make the P5 a lot better was to let the rear window go down... That'd be the bomb.

You guys don't like air conditioning do you? In a few weeks if I tried to drive around with the windows down I would fry.

LOL, I hear ya! Down here, the humidity is so damn high that leaving the windows down is suicide on a hot summer day!

You don't have any dogs, do you? It's very, very difficult for them to get their head out the window with the AC on... and see... that's the whole point of being a dog... Once that car gets to a speed that's faster than running around the back yard, the head goes out the window... Why, I bet if dogs had thumbs and driver's licenses, they'd be the fastest, craziest racers of all. ;)

ZoomZoomH April-9th-2002 12:35 PM

yeah why is that? why does everytime I see a dog in a car that's moving, their heads all stick out to take in the air, no matter how fast the car is going?? :D

LOL, what I dont understand is why dogs LOVE to put their head out of the window, but when you blow in their face, they get pissed off (at least my dogs do). :D

I donno man...you might wanna check your breath....LOL...maybe that's what's pisses off your dogs~
