Has anyone removed or disabled The VTCS??

Has anyone done this ? It seems to hender performance and improve fuel. But it seem it would help sence it is absent from the MP3. It only works on cold days to improve the heating up and lighting of the CAT. In normal operation it is an obstrution of the intake. I would like to see a dyno of before and after. Anyone??

For those who want to know what it is the VTCS is a variable tumble swirl valve control system. It tumbles the incoming air on a cold day to create a rich condition and increase in heat so the CAT lights of quicker and It is the reason for the 2500-2800 Rattle in the intake.

Edwin man posted detailed info on this a while back..He and I discussed it in detail....You can take apart the intake and remove the spoons but then you would need to fill the holes in(sauter or even JB weld would work) that the rod leaves behind or yould have serious flow problems...all the spoons are controlled on a single rod kinda like this: -0-0-0-0- ...this however would throw a CEL...other method would be to get the FS-ZE intake manifold, as there is no VTCS system, and this would definitely improve performance...why am i thinking the proper term is VICS??? disabling the system would be BAD, unless you could somehow wedge it permanently in the wide open position, but it still wouldnt completely remove the obstruction of air flow, but yould still get CEL,and you still wouldnt stop that rattle that most 2.0 guys HATE !! ...

The VICS is the variable inertia control system that is a different beast. It is the second air chamber on the intake not the tumble valves.
