H3 Falcon bulb problem

I got the H3 Xenon bulbs from protege5online.com a few weeks ago. I put in the fogs only to discover that upon turning them on I blow the fog light fuse everytime, I left my stock bulbs in Newport so putting them back in is not an option at this time. I have taken them apart and checked them and the bulbs look fine. Anyone else having a problem like this?

do you have the right wattage for those bulbs...they are only supost to be 55 watts, when i bought my HID bulbs i had the choise of 55 or 85 watt bulbs

I just purchase a mp5/5sp, Black one (love it) I replace the fog light bulb with PIIA 55 watt ion bulbs that puts up a light of 85w
this probably is your best buy and they look cool.
I want to purchase the white side marker lights that come std.
on the VW Jettas Fenders, does any body out there
have try that yet? , if you have, how does it look!

they should be 55 watts, not 100....thats prob why you are blowing fuses

I am the ONLY one with problems, funny how 50-60 people say that these bulbs are the greatest things in the world.

55W/12V=4.6 A
100W/12V=8.3 A
Fuse SHOULD blow -I bet it's no more than 6A
Do not put bigger fuse in or you'll burn your car.

It comes stock with a 20 amp fuse..

I would check for things that might be shorted together. Might have pinched some wires while putting the fogs back together.

Personally, I wouldn't use 100W bulbs in our fogs.

I wouldn't use 100watt bulbs. I wouldn't go beyond 85 "maybe"Likely its too much draw for your electrical system.

Putting in a larger fuse would be bad also... nothing like watching the wires burn like a fuse! (had that happen installing 100watt bulbs into my other cars Hella 155 driving lights(!), after replacing the wire I added another relay in line which worked out fine.) Probably not possible in your application.

These are the bulbs that I was told replace the fogs in our Pro5s. I've had them in my car for about 6 weeks without a problem & I've sold probably 20 pair without any other problems. Its sorta weird that his fuse blows but noone else does on the exact same bulbs in the same car. Thats what we are trying to figure out. As soon as he gets his stock bulbs back, we're going to get him to ship them back & see if they do the same for us.

Wondering if it may have something to do with his aftermarket audio and its wiring in conjunction with the lights?? To much draw on one circuit?

While everyone is trying to figure out why he keeps blowing fuses, which I have no answer to, has anyone thought about the fact that higher wattage bulbs not only put a strain on the cars wiring but they can also cause damage to the lighting assembly. To much heat has been known to melt plastic ya know. Just something to think about before you folks go purchase those high watt replacements.

Mitch has been using them for Month's he brought up this issue with me and said that he has not had any problems like this.

I agree. Before I would change bulbs (55watts are fine) I would lift the hood blocking the bulb. Should put more light on the road when needed (ie: "FOG" I think they are useless for daily driving... personal opinion.) With the cut of the glass you'll notice the beam is directed to the sides instead of up. I imagine the "hood" was installed for people who drive with them on all the time to save other drivers eyes.
