Generic Cone Filter and Custom Bracket

All:

I have been toying around with the idea of doing my own custom intake for cheap money and eventually going the INJEN way or of the sorts.

I first removed all the unecessary plastic crap up until the airbox. Driving the car like this does give great throttle response and a little rumble.

I then spent about 3 hours custom fabricating my own PVC intake plumbing that goes to the air box and then to the right down such as CAI. The car got quieter though throttle response didn't seem so great.

Today I said screw it. Went to Auto Zone, spent $20 on a generic K&N style cone filter. Went to Home Depot and spent $2.00 on 1/8" by 3/4" zinc plated steel bar. After some rotozipping, drilling, measuring, and of the sorts and 3 prototypes later, this is what I have come up with:

When driving, throttle response is great, a little rumble sound, not too much, very nice, not ricey at all. Sure, warm air is sucked in, but not too bad for about an hour and $22.00. If anyone wants brackets, I can make them and get them out to you. I'll just duplicate what I have and any 3" filter will work as the bracket affix's to the side of the MAF box.

nice cheap and easy. true you'll be sucking in only warm air but it will still be more free flowing than stock. nice job

Damn... your research is better than mine... If you could take a pic of just the bracket, I'd appreciate it.

Thank
