you mention 'bolt on'. What car models? Also what are you bolting the turbo too if theres no turbo exh manifold? Whats the HP and TQ output?

tooslow April-18th-2007 02:17 PM

wel theres two kit one which consist of only a partial setup turbo, intercooler, piping, oil lines, bov and fuel pressure regulator. you would need to find a turbo manifold, fuel management, downpipe, and various fitting and brackets also the ic pipes need to be bent to fit

the second kit is a full bolt on kit. mazda 1.6,1.8,2.0 protege

Why would we get your kit over the hiboost stipper kit on protegeclub? The hiboost kit is short fuel managment and a blow off valve but is 100$ cheaper(compared to your standard retail). Hiboost also has proven numbers with thier kit and a very strong following in the protege world

phals April-18th-2007 04:25 PM

So from those pics the full kit has a differant intercooler than the partial kit? Any pics of it installed?

tooslow April-18th-2007 04:37 PM

hmm

well hiboost does have a proven track record and they make a wonderful kit i will not disagree with you there. i think there is a bit more to it then what people think. so if you look at the two kits like this you can see the advantages of my kit..
with my kit the only thing you need other then the kit to be fully operational would be a voltage clamp you could run 5-6psi and save for a fuel managment system while you drive your turbo car. with hiboost you still need a rising rate fuel pressure regulator begi $149 a voltage clamp $105 and a bov varys but let say you buy hiboost greddy type rs $200 the added cost now set you up with a $2954 turbo kit w/out shipping charges .whereas my kit with the voltage clamp cost your only out $2555 w/out shipping cost. the money you saved with me is now your ems and you now have a 225 hp turbo protege. keep in mind that there is no dyno number for the budget kit by hiboost so we are even as far as dyno's go. they tested the hiboost with juans ems and it does a hell of a job i think we all can agree there. but as far as dyno number go the real number comes out with tuning regardless of your setup i mean if we took the hiboost kit and my kit put them on the same yr,make and model im almost postive they would see nearly identical numbers. now i could be wrong i dont pretend to know everything so somebody please correct me if im wrong...i know people trust hiboost and i cant even begin to touch what he has accomplished YET. once i have a proven track number and people see what i offer is a good product at budget prices then it will be a diffrent story. even hiboost had to start out somewhere they didnt wake up making the best turbo kit out there right?..im not trying to debate or farse information so if i am wrong them please correct my ignorance.. this was in no way an attack on hiboost or juan as a person i think he is a fine person and has a wonderful company, i even emailed him to become a dealer for the kits but he never return my email so i had to outside the box for this one.

thanks for your time

ps....there is a strong following because he offered then only turbo kit up until now..lol

KrayzieFox April-18th-2007 06:54 PM

Dude I'm down for this. So what's the $1500 difference in the partial vs. complete kit?

tooslow April-18th-2007 07:15 PM

quite a bit fox heres the details. also phals not that i forgot about you my supplier is sending anything he has on his computer he has pictures just not sure whats on his hardrive he may have to upload some so it may be a 24 hr delay sorry, but you will get something for proof.
ok the detail for the partial kit are very basic again the partial kit if nothing more the a inexspensive soultion for all you guys custom making a one off turbo setup.

(1) garret t25 turbo new
(1) type a intercooler, if you like the type L from the full kit i can sub that it?
(1) set of universal intercooling pipe w/ hardware
(1) section of oil lines and fittings
(1) hks ssq bov
(1) standard adjustable fuel pressure regulator

the full kit contains

(1) garret t25 turbo w/manifold
(1) downpipe w/ gasket
(1) intercooler w/ piping and all hardware
(1) rising rate fuel pressure regulator
(1) blow off valve
(1) heat shield
(1) air intake
(1) oil lines and fitting
(1) water lines for optional water cooling turbo
(1) map unit ( voltage clamp )
(1) all hardware needed for install and directions

So we're on our own as far as gauges, fuel managment, boost controller, and other electicals are concerned? You just practically provide us with the hardware for a bolt-on kit and we take it from there. Also, is the IC piping on the complete kit bent to fit properly?

tooslow April-18th-2007 08:11 PM

yeah but thats the easy part. what my plan is im going with the din gauge panel $49 getting some basic boost and a/f gauges $120 then the voltage clamp the kit come with rrfpr so you could run 5-6 psi which on auto trans that should be plenty. for you 5 spd guys what you save in cash could be spent on a ems setup. i'm just leaving the turbo after factory 6psi for safety reasons. yup the intercooler piping is bent to fit..

i have pictures of the installed kit but the files are too large for this site please email or pm and i will send them

phals April-18th-2007 08:55 PM

In no way was I taking this as an attack on hiboost, i was just hoping you would be able to defend your position and I must say you did it beautifully. I know that everyone has to start somewhere and I do appreciate you doing it, plus we have been in dire need of some good competition in this market for a while.

There has been a little competition for HiBoost with MentalAddiction, but they didnt last long at all.

What I was really worried about was the universal intercooler pipeing, in my experience, universal kits never work out the way they should and you end up spending alot of extra money and especially time getting them to fit. But you covered that one.

Instead of voltage clamps, you should consider Mattys option and start flashing ecus with the mazdaspeed protege software for us 2.0 guys, this way you would basicalyl have stock quality fuel maps for around 6-7 psi

tooslow April-18th-2007 09:08 PM

Oh yeah as soon as he gives it the ok i would like to have mine reflashed it would be safest way to go about things thats for sure..im not 100%thrilled about the universal piping either but the only other options would be to buy a pre bent kit for $1000. im a tight wad so i would rather bend my own..lol..yeah i was pretty excited when i recieved the email from my turbo guy and he said he now carries the protege kits. i buy what i sell of course, so anything new that will benefits you guys will also benefit me. im currently rearranging my site to really just focus on the protege and miata so whatever i come across i will gladly share..well if there is anything else i can do let me know.
