Forced induction options for 1.8L

I've been searching the forum for info on forced induction options for my protege - '99 ES with the 1.8L engine. Maybe i missed something, but most references were to the 2.0L. It's been pointed out to me that many performance parts are interchangeable on these engines. Is this the case with turbo kits? My guess is no, but that means very little because of ignorance about specifics for the car. so please share any general info you like on any type of forced induction kits for 1.8L proteges.

I was looking at the HiBoost website, but only saw kits for the 1.6 and the 2.0. did i miss something?

yeah, my WOMP supercharger kit should bolt right up also without a problem. Haven't tried it yet though.

What type of power, boost increases would you expect the supercharger to give the 1.8 engine?

Check out the WOMP threads in the third gen section.

pretty much all the FI kits available for the 2.0L will work on the 1.8L....

correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought the specs w/ the supercharger would be different for the 1.8. My 1.8 has the stock 122 bhp. I really doubt a supercharger could more than double that to bring it up to the 200 whp Roddimus said he was aiming for. Granted this would be different if other mods were present, but this isn't so in my case or Roddimus' proposed scenario. again, i let me know if i'm wrong here.
my question though is what kind of power could i expect from my 1.8 with a supercharger and nothing but a supercharger?

The 1.8L and 2.0L engiens differ VERY little. The 2.0L has a little more torque down low and the 1.8L has a much smoother rev and is just as fast as any 2.0L.

In all honesty if I had to choose between a 1.8L supercharged or 2.0L supercharged. I'd do the 1.8L because it revs so much cleaner and higher. That's what you want with a blower.

Yes, 200whp...not a problem with my kit. If you wanna add foregd rods to the equation I bet I could get you right around 275whp or so without much effort. Making power isn't the problem. It's controlling it thats tricky.

So, if I were to buy the kit, it will fit on to the 1.8L no problem? Or will there be differences that I won't be able to handle? I know you can make anything fit if you have the tools and skills, so would i have to end up paying a shop to put it on?
Thanks

Read the WOMP thread...matty made the kit so it can be installed with hand tools....All the differences between the 1.8L and 2.0L are internal, so no difference in install
