Fix for Morning Cold start.

Well, i went in for my service today to fix

1) cold clutch clatter
2) Chattering windows

and i asked them if there was a fix now for the morning cold engine rattle and he said well yes there is now it's a reprogrammed ECU.

I pick up my car tomorrow afternoon and i will post if this indeed is the case, then i won't have to remote start my car every morning.

Btw, the mazda dealer said that only a number of cars have the cold clutch chatter and that they have a list of VIN numbers of Protege/P5's that have them.

Updates tomorrow after i get my car back.

Oh i'm sorry Mr.Man, but you see 2 weeks ago i went in for a full service and the dealer said no fix was available yet.

I agree with you noodles. I talked to my dealer not too long ago and said that they knew nothing of a fix for it. I think The Man is just sore because he sits in front of his computer ALL day and wastes his life criticising people and making us believe that he knows everything about cars. Sorry but it is true

I am in complete agreement with you.

Anyways here is the update.

They said my car's ECU was already up-to-date and did not actually reprogram my ECU. However they did fix the clutch chatter , replaced the whole clutch and a whole bunch of other shit that goes along with it and it does seem really smooth now especially going from 1-2nd.

They said however, keep monitoring the engine during cold engine starts and see what it sounds like. It's not really like a rattling sound, just like a fucking desiel engine in the morning.
