Here is my sounddomain website that I have finally gotten up and going. Please post feedback on what you like, don't like, or if you have questions? I do not have any exterior pics yet because it is nasty out right now.

Thanks

How do you like the Kenwood 910? I have been contemplating getting the 911, but wanted to know how good/easy the user interface is.

Just a quick question, your amps, they will heat a lot in this "cage" ? They have no fresh air they are isolated with that cover ...

JellyBean98 February-19th-2003 10:53 AM

I only use the cover when I am using the trunk to haul things or when it is in the shop. Also, I have never had an issue with the JBL amps ever getting real hot even in the summer. One thing I forgot to mention on my website is that I also wired my alarm's trunk release output up to a latching relay so when I use the trunk release out put it triggers the relay to act like a starter kill for my radio, and renders it useless untill I click the relay again. That way the guys at the shop can't mess with my monitor since I do not have a detachable face. Hope that makes sense.

One more thing, the material you used for covering the panel where is you amps, is it the same material that is in the P5 or you found one that is alomost the same ? and where i can get this material ?

Are you talking about the panel that flushes the amp and stuff into, because that's just regular speaker box carpet. If you are talking about the piece that goes over everything and covers it up, that is just the regular trunk mat that came with the Protege.

AwaKeN February-19th-2003 12:18 PM

yeah it's the cover, i'll check for the speaker box carpet

Very nice and clean audio setup!

Did you remove your spare tire in order to install the amps there ?
Or it fits WITH the spare tire ?

Nice stereo! Nice and stealthy.
I've also got a question for ya...
Does your XM reciever lose reception like a cell-phone does?
I've been thinking about getting XM in my car, but I get such shitty cell-phone reception around here, that it(XM) might be a waste of money.
Thanks!:)

I did take out the spare tire but the amps are not down in the spare tire well. I took it out because I was not going to be able to get to it anymore so I used the extra space down below to hide some wires and grounding points. As far as the XM question. I have had no issues what so ever. XM is awesome, so is Sirius. I sell both of them at Circuit City. I went with the Delphi for a couple reasons.

1. The cosmetics. Silver with red lighting matches alot in the P5.
2. Portability. I can take it inside and hook it up into my home kit and listen to it when I am sitting at the computer.
3. Display. The display is big and my eyesight sucks!

My wife has the Pioneer direct link hooked up to her DEHP8400MP and she loves it as well. The only thing I do not like about the Pioneer is that it doesn't scroll the text.

Sirius has some really great programming and channel selections as well.
