for the engine
Im just wondering, what do you guys use to clean your engines?

a tooth brush and some green stuff

its called paying a detailing shop 45 bucks to clean under the hood :)
but I swear they do a damn good job man, just like the dealership lot cars :) |
I aint paying 45 buxx to clean my engine, lol, thats the whole idea behind doing it myself, not paying for it.

I just use a rag with a little degreaser on it, and wipe everything down. A little armor all on the hoses and black plastic to shine things up, and it usually looks pretty good. One of the keys to keeping a clean engine compartment is taking care not to spill any oil when you service the car.
I personally do not like pressure washing the underhood area, as water can penetrate electrical connectors and cause corrosion, and in some cases, find its way into the engine (depending on the car, and if you have a breather filter). In my opinion, it's better not to risk it. |
Spray a can of that "Engine Cleaner" stuff from GUNK...Works awesome. Just make sure to keep the engine running a while after rinsing it off! Figured that out the hard way!

Thanx guys
