So, I decided I didn't like the look of the sub on the cargo floor or my trunk area w/no paneling. So I decided to redo the rear....AGAIN. Well, go figure, you can't fit the damn brackets for the MSP sub/amp rack w/out doing a little cutting of the plastic paneling. Well, that's where the Dremel came in handy yeat again. See below:
*BTW Barry, the 2nd amp/sub rack you sold to me, the sub works fine, I just had to take it out and rewire it.....lousy job Mazda did. I can't fit in my trunk, so, I'm selling it for $100 to a friend of mine to stick in the back of her Cabrio.*

I like this set up better. You still have the floor for space and if needed the top rack. Looks real good.

Yup....I have a completely functional trunk once again....w/the use of 60/40 rear bench seat. YAY for experimentation.

Thanks Matty...yeah,if you don't mind cutiing through your rear plastic, it looks rally good. Now that I have mine doen, I can get EXACT measurements so you don't have to cut it too big or too small. I started out small, and kept having to redo, till it fit. Now it looks ultra clean.
You get the brackets Matty, I'll help ya square it away.

did you use quick-disconnects to be able to remove it when needed?

Looks stealth! ;)

JDM-P5 July-6th-2005 11:11 AM

Dang it...no I didn't. I still can later on though. What I also forget to do was connect my dang trunk light back up...and right now, I'm a bit too lazy to have to take that rear apart again. Besides....I really don't need that light anyway.... :)

If I was going to get bumps in da trunk...that's how I'd do it. At this rate I never will :(
