does a P5 have a fuel filter
 

if so, can anyone help me find it, my car appears to be slightly misfiring. when i unplug each plug the engine dies so i know its not the plug or wire itself.

schedule an appointment and take it into the dealer.....its a warranty issue.

The fuel filter on the P5 is in the rear left of the car, underneath of the flooring.

why an extended warranty? your car is a 2002? do you have THAT many miles on it already?

if your extended warranty covers the drive train...and the PROBLEM turns out NOT to be a normal wear and tear item...like plugs....it SHOULD cover it.....but then if you are under an extended warranty....they differ...and you may need to check into EXACTLY what your warranty covers....and what it does not.

No, it is not. It has 2 fuel filters, and both of them are inside the fuel tank built into the fuel pump assembly; they are accessed by removing the bottom cushion of the back seat and removing an access cover.

The fuel-filter-looking thing under the floor near the bumper is part of the evaporative emissions system

I'd ditch the Bosch +4 plugs first, then check the filter.

Those plugs are a waste, and probably have caused some carbon buildup - you might be in for a valve/combustion chamber cleaning.

I'm not trying to start up the long-heated debate about "superior" spark plugs. But I can say it's the cheapest place to start - go back to the stock NGKs and see what happens - I'm betting you'll run better, if not like-new.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I think thats crazy, that the p5 doesn't have an inline filter.

I just checked the shop manual, he's right, there are two filiters within the tank, a high pressure and a low pressure filter.

What I was thinking was the fuel filter turned out to be an air filter for the charcoal canister.

I thought a filter that was not easily changed was strange also,
but arent todays fuels supposed to be really clean right from the pump?

a went to autozone and ran the obd2 scanner on it and it said cyl 3 misfire. We pulled the plugs and were like :wtf: (the plug looked brand new still at 40Kmiles later) we stuck it back in and it keep doing it. SO i pulled the plug wire, tore it apart, managed to put it back together and BOOM it started working again.

oh and did i mention the stock tiny plug wires SUCK! I just wish I had 60 bucks to buy newones.

Where is the OBD-II adapter on these cars? I thought it was located right in front of the windshield wiper motor but the female connector did not look like it would fit???
