Dinky horn

Is there a way to make your horn louder. The other day I was cut off in traffic and honked my dinky little horn. My friend sitting in the passenger seat was making fun of it. It get embarassing when a big car cuts off my little protege and not comes out but a beep. Is there anything I can do to increase the volume of the stock horn without replacing it?

i hear ya..... ahh just put in some airhorns that will get there attention! :D

you can upgrade your horn but In my personal opinion if you feel you have to spend money upgrading your horn because a non-driving passenger doesn't like it.....then you have bigger problems to worry about.

p.s. My friend Blake spent $30 doing "the horn mod". And I flamed him for it. What a waste of $30. If you're serious about a loud horn for SAFETY reasons, go to harborfreight.com and look for their "AOOGA" horns....it's 125dcb and will shatter glass. That should get that F-150's attention!

Who needs a horn? I never use mine. When ever I want to let someone know I want then to move the heck outta my way I just throw it in neutral and give it a few high revs. Bullet exhaust does its job and they get the point. Works every time.

Whatchu talkin' bout Willis? Manual does have neutral. Of coarse I have a manual tranny. Auto with a 4 banger sucks ass. What did you think I did with the short shifter and Kartboy bushings scrap heap? Stick 'em up my tailpipe? :P

Roddimus Prime June-4th-2004 03:26 PM

oh yeah....Normally if I were to "pipe" someone I just push the clutch in....no need to shift to nuetral....unless you have an auto!!

Decepti-creep!

RipperSnapper June-4th-2004 03:39 PM

Ah yes. I see were your comming from. Most of the time I'm at a dead stop waiting for someone to move. Therefore, I'm in neutral.
While I'm moving, yes the clutch method works too.

Autobum!

Roddimus Prime June-4th-2004 04:05 PM

I tend to leave my car in gear all the time with the clutch in....this is just quicker in case someone in the lane next to me decides to punch it at the light!

60hp shot + 1500rpm clutch dump = no tread on front tires + ticket for "imrpoper start from stop".

I hate math!

Ahh, the good ol' "improper start from a parked position" ticket! I got one of those like 10 years ago in my 1981 Z-28.... I pulled out of a gas station and barely chirped my tires, when the cop pulled me over I started to get out of the car, but he told me to stay put. Well, then he walks up and I've already got my seatbelt off, he starts talking about ticketing me for not wearing a seatbelt. After insisting that I had it on, the jerk then writes me up for the squeal, needless to say, I was a young kid in a fast car (shut-up in advance, Rod :D), he had it out for me. $78 and 2 points on my license.

i thought our cars had like continously moving throwout bearings... or somethign liek that

so it wouldn't really matter if Rod kept it liekt hat cuz its gonna be moving either way

also parts are alot different nowadays than they were like 10 - 20 years ago
they can last longer with technology nowadays

Roddimus Prime June-5th-2004 12:16 PM

I'm not concerned either way about throwout bearing life. With the amount of power my car is about to make the cluth isn't going to last long no matter how I drive it.

i spent 16 bucks at pep boys for a fiamm freeway blaster and 20 minutes and...voila! no more road runner horn. it's not obnoxiously loud, but it's way better than the stock one.
