Cool transistor horns.....

Hi Guys,

I've got one of these transistor horns shown on this site
http://www.koizer.com.tw/transistor.htm
Got the K-816 (16 sound)... its very cool and loud as well.
Question is ... where under the hood is the best spot to put this thing.

Thanks,

i have wolo airhorns that im' still working on putting it. but i found that below the airbox there is some generous space and holes that you can mount fixtures on. the hardest part is running the wiring and tubing.

sure. i might take some higher quality pics once i get back to my house for easter, but you cn see how they are angled under the box. if you feel under there, there is a metal arm like 1 inch wide that holds the airbox up, with a gap between, enoguh to fit a ziptie through the gap and tie the horns to the arm.
Where's your compressor? I have some of those sitting in my trunk, waiting to be installed :D

Sweet. I'll have to check and see if I have similar bolt locations. Too lazy to check right now though :) Plus I don't need to worry about the harsh salty winters around here, it's so nice not having to watch the weather channel every morning. hehe...

Where'd you get the airhorns?

ZoomZoomBlue April-9th-2003 10:21 AM

you can get horns at any auto parts or performance store. There's all different colors. But you wanna get the smallest ones available because there's not all that much room. Mine were around $35. It comes with everything you need except wire.

There is another set that can imitate the sound of a cow .... :-)

Did you hook your horns up in line with the factory horn? or did you put in a seperate switch for them?

ZoomZoomBlue April-9th-2003 11:41 AM

you have to pull the grill out to get at the old horn, and you should be able to connect the wire from the old horn to the relay switch provided with the new horns

Does that go for a 2000 Protege as well?
