Cone ram air worked

I finally got the cone filter on the car and it works great!

I am amazed. The sound is much much louder than before and I am hearing a woose sound when I let off the pedal. Very cool

I handled that Air temp sensor, and its before the filter!

I haven't replaced the piping from the throttle body to the meter. I left it ALONE. I just attached the cone filter to the meter and drilled a hole in the heat shield and stuck the air temp in. Not one problem.

I have a feeling if the air sensor was getting very cold air, it will advance my timing and turn the fuel up. Just a guess for now.

Sounds cool Nick. You have any pics? So, from your description, it sounds like after the MAF, you've just got the filter attached right? No pipe?

Have you noticed any differences in performance, Nick? Faster throttle response? Anything?

Is there really a reason for the pipe in a short ram intake? I can understand a true CAI needing a long pipe, but the short ram and a filter attached to the MAF are drawing air from pretty much the same location. Anybody know?

No pictures yet, but I will get some.

Yes I have noticed more power, but only after 4500. The sound is quite loud.

My setup it a bit different than a short ram.

I have a sealed heat shield around the cone, with a inlet, which connects to my twin scoop ram air.

The only thing I don't like is how hot the heat shield gets. But what is odd is the piping after the meter is very cool to the touch.
Much cooler than running the air box, with the same twin scoop.
