Center panel and other interior parts removal
 

Fellow tuners,
Has anyone actually done a WRITE UP on the removal of the interior parts? I'm in the mood to do some painting this weekend and was wondering if there's any info out there. After searching I found this:

HOWEVER, I can't access it at work and my PC at home is crashed...yeah..bummer, so I'm stuck. I know there are a ton of you out there that have done this, so please pass on the knowledge. I'm primarily interested in the center and the trim around the shifter.

Hey, I've dissasembled the center piece around the radio stuff and its pretty easy, I'll do a write up today after I'm done with classes and will hopefully have it posted tonight or tomorrow.

its probably the same thing that you are about to venture on. I don't think i will have time to do a write up, but if there are questions after JDM-P5 writes the 'how-to', i'll be glad to answer them. overall, its one of the easiet projects.

Jeff will get you a write up on how to remove the console trim and I'll tell you here how to remove the center console and shifter base.

1. put hands in cupholders and lift up sharply un-snapping them

2. slide both front seats back as far as possible and locate the screws under the caps that hold the center consoler down.

3. slide both seats forward and remove the last two in the rear.

4. stick your fingers inside the e-brake slot and pop out the trim

5. remove the 2 screws there that hold the console down...

6. lift entire console up and out of the way

Thanks Rod...that will def. help alot....this is a totally new learning experience for me....I can pull down the Eclipse blindfolded, but I'm WAAAY behind the learning curve with this bad boy....thanks for passing on the knowledge bro.

no problem....i hope you're planning on making it up to our big meet first weekend in feb. You should alo come up next weekend when I go to dyno tune my new supercharger system. Should be interesting to see how much power it makes.

I'm not too sure about the camping bit...lol...dude...Alabama in Feb is waaaay too cold for the Jamaican!!! I might be in that area for the meet though...I'll make it a day trip with the girlie...she says she wants to go to the zoo up there sooooo??? Hmmm, I might just roll up there for the dyno tune session...gimme a PM with the details.

I will most definitely do a write up on this and I'm not sure on the color as of yet...it's hard to get a theme with a white exterior. Thinking of a mix....white, black and maybe a hint of red to contrast it just a bit. I don't want the interior looking super plain! But, since I know I will be getting & replacing some key parts of the car with carbon fiber....I will undoutably have to bring just a tid bit of that to the interior....I've been steadily making a list since I picked up the car....just waiting on my tax return :evilgrin: Not looking for an overkill...just the right mixture to bring it all together. I guees all I can say is stay tuned....ha ha.

Awwww....that's exactly where I'm going to get my parts!! Don't worry my dear...I won't go overboard!! :)

I hear ya...but the tendency [from what I've seen] is to go overboard with those DG pieces. I broke down and got the engine cover because my spousal unit liked it quite a bit and it is wayyyyyy nicer than what the engine looked like originally and it is easy to keep clean.

Yes...that engine cover is very slick.
