Emmisions equipment is warranted to 100K miles (IIRC). The Gummint makes 'em!

Say NO to cats.

It's actually 80,000 miles. But close. :bt:

Da P-Funk! January-12th-2007 06:30 AM

^You are probably correct - I would check the warranty info in the owners manual 'just to be sure'.

Jackelope January-12th-2007 08:22 AM

my cat seemed to have disappeared...

t24u January-12th-2007 02:59 PM

Yeah, mine did on my RX-7 too. Weird.

Da P-Funk! January-20th-2007 06:18 AM

Mine is still there. ;)

Scaredy-cat (gutless)

Does it make any noticable difference in power if you get rid of the pre-cat, and will that cause a CEL?

Da P-Funk! January-22nd-2007 08:12 AM

Yes and yes.
People have had successs with the MIL eliminator (wire a resistor and a capacitor to the O2 sensor wire). It does generate a CEL after thousands of miles sometimes ('no change in in O2 sensor reading') but one could just clear the code using a reader or AutoZone or disco the battery...

The other more permanent fix is to get a 'tee' for the O2 sensors. Search for more info.

i got rid of it. i have a cel but is cause of a O2 sensor damaged. had it before taking off the Cat.
