car starter help
I'm installing a car starter on my protege 2001 and because its standard, I need to connect the starter unit to the handbrake to verify that it on and start the car...
Where under the stering can I find the wires and what color are they? Thanks |
I didn't think the parking brake had to be on to start the car?

I'm sorry, it is a remote starter...

You might find your wiring diagram here--> http://www.mazdaracer.clubprotege.com/DIY.html

Lucky for you I just did that like last week on my protege the wire is really eazy to find you just follow it right from the sensor on the e-brake. I think mine was red and white but I cannot really remember just take out your center console and you can see the little button right on the e-brake assembly and you can just tap into it right there thats what I did. Use one of those wire tap thingy from Radio Shack they made life so much easier installing that remote starter.

By the way you know that you will also need to bypass the clutch in order to make that remote starter work right?
