a/c problems
 

I searched but could not find anything! After running my a/c my car drops RPM's to almost stall. WTF Can someone help me? I pulled off the freeway yesterday and turned a/c off,put the windows down, and put it in nuetral as I coasted off the freeway My power steering was being affected as tried to turn the bend. WTF!Looked down and my RPM's are bouncing off zero. I checked all the connections on Aem intake. What else would cause this to happen?

When did the problem start? We need details. Did this happen the day after you put an intake on? Do you have a check engine light on also? Has the weather signifigantly changed the day it happened? You said you coasted because the engine completely stalled or just because the RPM's dropped and you had it in neutral? You power steering is driven from the engine. Low RPM's will give little or no assist. That's why it felt stiff. As far as what could cause it;
1) Idle control circuit bad
2) Carbon buildup in throttle body
3) Interference from intake somehow
4) Battery recently disconnected and computer still in 'relearn'
5) Computer not 'aware' that A/C is on and not compensating for load. (see idle control circuit)

Lots of additional causes but take out the variables like what you did to the car and see what happens. If problem is still there when everything is stock, take it back to the dealer.

You may also want to check your fuses. Im not totally sure about my P5 but in my nissan I have a fuse for engine and if that comes out the exact same thing happens. If its blown replace it but if it blows again take it to the dealer because then you have some electrical problem. Thats something else you might check out too. Make sure that you plug wires are in tight. If one is loose the extra strain on the motor "movement and vibrations" could cause those symptoms.I have to agree with rodslinger though start by undoing what you last did...

I've had the intake in since october and i have cleaned the filter multiple times. I didn't use the a/c with the intake in till the other day. It happened today 4 or 5 times. If I take it to the dealer they will give me shit for the mods. I'll check the fuses. Nothing is loose either!! ???????????:( :( :mad: :( :(
