Bought a 02 Protege5 today.

Just wanted to put a short introduction out there. Just picked up the car this morning after tradeing in my 00 Solara SE. The charm of owning a large coupe that couldn't fit anything finally wore off and I was in the market for a wagon. Was down to the WRX and the mazda, Mazda just fill the money side of things better.

Car looks be stock, no signs of mods being removed either. Manual, no options really. Did they come with the remote entry key fob standard? Mine is missing that, will try and sort that out in the next few months.

Past car history was a 90 Dodge Daytona Shelby and a 90 VW Corrado G60, so it's nice to be back in a "swift" car again.

Look forwards to being part of the community.

Haha, I always end up with white cars somehow. I always swear off owning another one too.....and never follow through with it. But this time no white rims.

Corrado:

Daytona:

And here is the Honda CBR 929rr:

And for good measure, the 84 Kawasaki 750 Turbo (11psi):

I'm a gearhead, do all my own work. But since I got into bikes my attention has shifted away from cars. Now I just look for a nice car that is reliable.

Welcome to the club. I kinda wish I got a white one. Nice bikes too...a Dayton 650 is in my future...as soon as I but a pos to learn on.

Sirkbac March-5th-2005 05:26 AM

Go find a suzuki SV650 to learn on, great bikes, and cheap! Also hit www.msf-usa.org and see where a local class would be. Thats the best way to start learning, even before you get a bike.

juddz March-5th-2005 09:10 AM

And, you won't get tired of the SV650 after a few months of riding experience... it is a lot of fun in the twisties and reasonably quick, too. It's not really a starter's bike, but it is docile enough for a novice.

This is one of the bikes that has been on my "must own" list for a while...
