Bosch Platinum 2 plugs install
 

I just changed my plugs, picked up some bosch platinum 2s, some anti seize and the contact compound for the wires. I changed the plugs for the first time, very easy to change.

I just wanted to let you guys know the car runs great with these and performs at least as good, if not better than the NGKs, I'll check my gas mileage and let you know if it improves. They aren't too expensive, plus wal mart carries them, so they are cheap there. My idle is smoother too.

i purchased the e3 plugs i dont know what to make of them. sometimes if im in the thottle part way and the jam on it it bogs down and barely moves..i have a automatic so im not sure if its the trans or the motor..

in a mazda it's NGK or die. I wouldn't EVER put anything less in my cars...especially a bosch plug. Might as well have put a champion copper in there.

I used the Iridium IX plugs in my p5 and I suggest you use them as well.

I'd have to agree with Roddimus, especially for the rotary guys ... don't even think about anything but an NGK. The Iridium plugs are nice for forced induction applications, but probably silly for NA ... and pricey.

They might be alright for now .. but the Bosch plugs are probably not gonna work as good as NGK. Once again, as Roddimus said NGK is the way to go with Mazda.

Hey, it's possible to see improvements with other plugs in a P5 ... it's not really about that. I just don't trust anything other than NGK ;)

Omron did some testing a couple years back that showed interesting results but from what I've read on this forum and Mazdas247 it seems that people run into a lot more problems when using those plugs. Here are the results:

Yes, I agree, I've read several threads where platinum plugs will cause poorer performance.
10$ NGKs are all you need, although I haven't tried their Iridiums.

Also, not related to plugs, when I fill up my gas tank my idle is complete crap for a couple miles then is fine. The fuel filter is new

how full are you getting it? You may affecting the tanks ability to pressureize or vent properly.

I just installed the Iridiums too, noticed it does idle smoother and actually doesn't lug as much at slower speeds.

I stop pumping the gas after it stops automatically.

As far as dust free pads, dont they normally eat your rotors?

The Bosch platinum plugs are complete garbage at best. Get rid of them ASAP.

So the weird idle was there before you did the plugs? Is that why you changed them in the first place?

The idle problem was before the plugs, but i feel like now i have less power, so i think im gonna put something else in.
