AUX input kit for MP5 stock stereo?

Anyone ever seen a AUX input converter for the standard Mazda Protege 5 stereo?

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, that would allow me to convert my Tape/AUX input into a standard RCA input, which would then allow me to plug my iPod directly into the stereo.

And this would be *a very good thing indeed*.

do you have a tape player in your pro...just get a casset adapter and pug it into your ipod

Well, the MP5 stock raido does have an extra din slot for either a MD player or a cassette deck. Both which in my opinion are useless. Usually this space isn't filled with anything, and if you take your deck out, you can see where either of these two extra devices would plug in. I'm not sure how many pins are on this header. But I do know the following pins have to exists. First, it needs to have a power and ground. Second it needs to two pins that are shorted together telling the head unit that there is an external device connected to it. Finally, it has to have 4 pins for the stereo input. Thats 8 pins. I know it has more than that. Not sure what the other pins would be used for. If you can somehow contact the radio maker and ask for a pin out for that connector, you will be able to use that nice little feature.

I was just gonna upgrade the headunit all together.
Maybe something with an external aux, for my ipod.

No matter what you do do not get an fm adapter, it just totaly kills the fidelity.

There is a pin-out somewhere but nobody has mastered it.

Anyone know where this pin out is?? If you can give it too me...i'll fix up the deck so that it can bring in an AUX input other than tape and MD.

I think the issue is that nobody does have the pinout - it's not actually published anywhere. Anybody who has tried to figure out the pinouts has been stuck with their own knowledge on how to figure out the functions through measuring, etc.

Well, if that is the case, its gonna leave it a little difficult. Bummer
