Auto lock/unlock question - new Mazdaspeed 2003.5

All:

I did do a search but could not find an answer.

I just bought a 2003.5 Mazdaspeed. When I exit the vehicle. The doors automatically lock after 30 seconds.

I DO NOT WANT THIS FEATURE.

Does anyone know how to TURN THIS FEATURE OFF?

Please advise ASAP!

Thanks.

They are only supposed to automatically lock after 30 seconds when the car has been unlocked using the remote, but the car is not entered.

Are you certain you are reporting this correctly?

Thats right,
When ever I unlock the car with the remote and don't touch a door handle, the car will lock again. Check your manual to see if this is in it. If not, you probably have a problem, thank God for warranties.

Okay, I figured it out (no manual).

Open up main brain. Flip dip switch 2 to on. This will disable the automatic 30 second lock.

dip switch? where?

What you do is disconnect the 3 plugs from the actual MAZDA ALARM module. You cut two tie wraps to take it out of the vehicle. Using a small Phillips screwdriver, unscrew (poke through the white paper/sticker) the four screws to open module. Once the two half pieces are apart, on the circuitboard there is one four-port row of switches. Switch 2 to the opposite as it is. Reassemble and install.

Done!

Sorry to seem so stupid, but where is it located?

Location...

Under drivers side dash, under steering column to the left utmost up area (basically, above dead pedal area by 10 inches or so).
