Anyone else find their gearbox to be real stiff when cold?
 

I have an 03 P5 and the last couple weeks we've had a bunch of really cold days. On these days I find it quite hard to go from first to second and to downshift. Even at a stop its sometimes hard to get it into first gear. Once everything gets warm its ok but I was wondering if this was normal. Any ideas???

Yes, its normal.

Same on my 98

Ok is this normal? my wifes DX 2001 has been grinding a lot after it does get warmed up like a horrible grind from first to second only. 30,000 miles

Yesterday, I had my gear oil changed to Valvoline Synthetic 75W-90 and the cold shift issues and the 1-2 shift crunch are gone.

Sounds like low tranny fluid or worn out clutch :eek:

i just noticed the same problem on my 03 pro5. it just happened..for the 1st time.
it's difficult downshifting to first at a stop sign...as though there's some heavy resistance and i have to force it.
i only have 2000km on mine.
it cant be worn out clutch.
