air filter prob for 2000 protege
 

Hi guys i just bought a 2000 protege 1.6l i got it like 3 weeks ago so im new to the whole protege deal. I got a few questions 1st i know its an aussie version but i guess its the same mechanicaly just different drive, i went to get a soprts pod filter to have the guy say "oh ur mass air flow sensor is sittin on the air filter itself , we wont touch that yet" ok is there away around this is there a pipe or wateva its called (see how much i know) to attatch between my pod filter and the wateva it goes to to put my air flow sensor on

also ne tips on mods or websites for sick wings and kits for the 2000 modle would be great

ive done searches but only come up with lil crappy kits for my model- also found a k and n air filter with a pipe with a hole and srew location already there- is that for the mass airflow sensor- im an apple computer tech not a mechanic so ne help would be great
