Advice needed ...
 

Alright guys ... I would like a little advice here on a purchase I am thinking about.
A friend of mine has a 02 MP5 and I have an 03 MP5. He's selling his car and he said he'd sell me his skunk2 coilovers and a K&N intake filter for $220. I can get skunk2 coils off eBay for about $150 if I look hard enough and a K&N filter is somewhere around $40 correct? Well he said he'd do all the installation too ... so I wouldn't have to mess around with taking apart the struts and all that crap ... he said he'd do it right on the spot, so I would get his stock struts with the skunk2s and he would take my stock struts and springs. But then I would get HIS stock springs ... did that make sense? So I'm trading for a year older struts and springs and paying about $30 more than if I got all the stuff myself, but this way I'm avoiding shipping costs and installation hassle. Would you guys go for it?

sure but i'm not a fan of those strut/springs. I would stick with the stock P5 struts and a $170(shipped) set of Tein S-tech springs. Also a filter is worthless when you can buy a whole CAI for $58shipped. Ask him though if he'd like to trade his cupholders for me though. I have the larger 03 holders but I'm looking for the 02 holders with the lid. I'll even pay for shipping on both.

where can you find Tein S springs for $170? That's pretty sweet if it includes shipping, and is it a limited deal because I don't have the funds right know. See the deal we had goin was $200 for the springs and $20 for the filter. So if I could get those Teins later on that would be awesome! As far the filter goes, I am aware it's useless without the rest of the system, what I was gonna do was go ahead and get a cheap eBay CAI and use the K&N filter because I've heard nothing but good review about their filters. And I'll ask him about the cupholders ... although I did not know there was a difference between them.

BTW: Since I mentioned I am short on funds, my friend agreed to set up a "payment plan" so I don't have to pay him at once. But if I can get the Teins at that same price later on when I have the cash, that would kick even more a$$!
