Are 99-00 hoods really the same as the 01+ Hoods?

So my hood is fucked ... i got in light accident. but it needs fixing. I cant fix it, so a replacemnt seemed in order. An OEM hood is 250 bucks. An ebay hood is 250 bucks, but is the Evo style. So, my question, do the 01+ fit on the 99-00?? Or how much modification is needed?

correct me if I am wrong here but the headlight hood contour should be diffrent on the 99-00' Than the 3rd gen cars

THEGOLDPRO April-14th-2005 06:22 PM

THEGOLDPRO April-14th-2005 06:24 PM

and the 99-00 protege is a 3rd gen, just in 2001 they changed the front.

copper7op April-14th-2005 06:29 PM

dammit.... thanks though. Any mods to make it fit?

macdaddyslomo April-14th-2005 06:48 PM

no

THEGOLDPRO April-14th-2005 07:37 PM

yeah you can change your whole front end.

ShogunProtege April-14th-2005 08:14 PM

you can make it fit, jsut change the headlights, grill, bumper, fenders... and about everything else on the front end to get it to fit..

copper7op April-15th-2005 11:00 AM

I'll be honest, i need to change the hood, front bumper and one headlight.... Is the frame the same?? can i bolt 01 parts onto my 00 frame??? that would kick ass

macdaddyslomo April-15th-2005 12:01 PM

you would have to change both headlights and the grill and fenders too

ShogunProtege April-15th-2005 12:23 PM

from what i heard some of the brackets are differant to hold up the headlights..

copper7op April-15th-2005 12:58 PM

hmm.. thats not too bad then

copper7op April-15th-2005 01:25 PM

dammit.... i might just stay with the 00 front end
