80,000 miles

Well I just wanted to let everyone know that on my way back from the beach yesterday, my 99 Pro hit 80k. After all of those miles I have had no serious problems. Still uses NO OIL. The only complaint I have is that over the miles it has a few interior door panel rattles that I HATE...but thats not much considering what I have seen go wrong on cars in my family with ALOT less miles. I was also wonder if any more 3rd gen owners have over 80,000 miles on there car? If so have you had any major problems?

Thanks,
Barry

Yeah I did drive alot while I was going to college which was about 90 miles one way from my house. ( I drove because the female in my life did not want me to stay where the college is and be away from her). But now I am finished with school and my job is only 5 miles from my house. I do still take a road trip every now and then, so I doubt if I will ever catch up to the mileage a 99 model should have on it. But its here to use, which I have done a very good job of. I just hope it will last alot longer. With marriage in about 2 years, I really need to save all the money I can. Thanks for the replys everyone...

I'm only halfway there on my 99, at 43000 miles. Damn man you drive a lot! My 1.6 uses no oil whatsoever. I hope it stays that way for the next 100,000 miles.

My '00 ES ...

I've got 44,000 miles on the '00 ES I purchased May 23, 2000.

My first Protege, a '92 LX, went 28,000 miles in only 11 months before it was totaled in a hydroplaning accident.

My second Protege, another '92 LX, went 83,000 miles in only 28 months! Driving for Pizza Hut at that! And never a problem!

My wife's Protege5 (the fourth Protege in my life) was purchased January 29 of this year and already has a little over 9K trouble-free miles. So about 164,000 trouble-free miles in Proteges in our family.
