5 Production

Are they still actually biulding the Pro 5 or is productio now complete to make way for the new 3? If still building the 5 - for how long?

deathuntofoes July-28th-2003 08:50 PM

i believe they will build it through next year, then in 05, the 3 will be introduced.....and will be more expensive...:(

ZoomZoomH July-28th-2003 08:55 PM

actually the P5 will end production later this year.

The Mazda3 wagon will start go on sale in North America around December 2003/January 2004

ZoomZoomH July-28th-2003 08:56 PM

and no, there will probably not be a major price increase.

they still gotta keep the price down to compete with the rest of the compact car segment.

Yeah yeah, I still got my MSP and that's all that matters really.

I know I am going to want a Mazda 3 real real bad, but I just bought 2 new mazdas in a row, I don't think I can swing 3.

According to Car and Driver, a month or two ago, in the "whats new" section, they said that the Production of the P5 has finished, but will continue to be on showrooms until a resonable number have sold. Mazda will not release the 3 until P5 sales reach a certain point. This makes sense, because they would not want to sell the new AND outdated models at the same time.....they would cut into eachother's sales. C&D said that it would take through next year to get the sales down to an accpetable number, so the 3 will not be on sale until later next year.

the Mazda3 looks eerily similar to the Toyota Matrix...YUCK!!!! i do like the headlights, however.....but it is just too short and boxy...

That's the end of THIS year that the 3 will be on sale. Production of the NA-spec Mazda3 starts mid-September. Add transit time and the end-of-2003 timeframe referenced above makes sense.

Inventory

Around here all the Mazda dealers seem to have alot of 5 inventory on their lots still - Because of my options the dealer had to bring in mine in from the Mazda depot with a build date of 02/03.
I was told the 3's were coming to Canada late Oct - early Nov. and they needed to move their current large inventory with a "special pricing progam ;)

Do you know if they stopped making parts? Like the MSP suspension and bodykit. I really wanted to get those but can't until around Novemberish. If they aren't being made anymore it will be hard to get them.
