2002 LX Problems!

Front end was squeaking and there was a buzz in the exhaust that popped up, so I took it in for service.

The car has 34K miles on it and is bone stock other than new Faulken 512 Tires.

Dealer Replaced the swaybar endlinks saying that is what was squeaking. Now it does it even worse.

What else could it be and is there any other fixes for it.

The buzzing was coming from the muffler and they ordered me a new one. Dealer said there was a loose baffle. I have to bring it back in a week or so to get the new muffler installed.

One other question. How long do brakes last on a protege? I know it matters on driving style, but whats the average. The dealer told me that I still have more than 50% pad life left...Are they trying to tell me that I am looking at 70K + on stock pads? I don't mind if it is true, but doesn't that seem like a little much?

Thanks!

have them try lubing up the bushings on the swaybar, cause it could be the sound of rubber against metal. as for everything else, im not sure

HTH

Edit* whoa, we both have silver bullet in our names, and we both have LX's! creepy

It's quite possible to get that kind of life out of stock brake pads, I had one set on a car once that got something like 80,000 kms (50,000 miles).
