2001+ Sedan Clear Corners

After reading around a little bit I decided that I WANT clear corners. Since we all know you can't buy clear corners for the 2001+, and the JDMs are ungodly expensive, I decided it's time to open up my headlight assemblies and remove the orange side marker.

Steps:

1.Take off front bumper and upper grill (I only took it off enough to be able to slide out the headlight assemblies).
2. Unscrew the 2 bolts under the bumper holding the headlight assemblies, and unscrew the bolt on top of the headlight assembly.
3. Disconnect wires from headlights.
4. Take 2 headlight assemblies.
5. Warm oven to 250-300 degrees and put one of the assemblies in for 5-8 minutes.
6. Using gloves, start prying away the clear plastic from the black back side of the assembly.
7. When you get the assembly opened, remove the 2 screws holding the black housing to the clear plastic.
8. Remove orange piece.
9. Get some silicone or any other window sealant and apply it into the groves at the edges of each headlight.
10. Put headlight back together.
11. Put headlight into car.
12. Put bumper on car.
13. Enjoy!

Time for completion: 3 hours (if unexperienced and doing alone)

Overall, I like the look when the lights are not on. With them on, in all honesty it's not too bad even though instead of an orange side marker, you get a light bulb staring you in the face.

I like the results, and the best part is this mod is FREE!

P.S. Please do not try this if you don't know what the heck you're doing. It's fairly simple, but I don't want to be responsible for broken headlights and/or moisture buildup.

I'll try and get pics.

Lot of work to get some orange out. Did you bake some nice fresh muffins in there as well with your clear corners?
