17" wheel clearance? 2000 Protege LX
I have a friend selling 4 Racing Hart wheels, 17 inch, 42mm offset. Does this present any suspension or fitment problems since the Protege came with 14" originally? Is it too much wheel? Anyone got 17's, any pics?

how wide? If it's 7" or so, then yes, they'll fit. :)
|
8" to wide? I'm buying from a member of another forum so I'll have to check again. Thanks for the response. Are Racing Hart wheels pretty good? They are the make of the MSP correct?

He said 17x7, 42mm offset. I think I'll get them. Racing Hart CP8's in bronze.

As long as your car has 5 lugs they should fit.

4x100

Your protege is 4 lug too, right?
Post the pics when you get 'em. :bigthumb: |
What forum did you buy them off of? Im trying to locate a spare to use as my....spare.
|
My mistake, I thought you were talking about the MSP racing harts. The MSM racing harts should fit no problem.

I got the 4 17 inch Racing Hart CP8s, look to be in good shape, with tires in good shape. Less than $400, so I'm happy. Just need to get the spoiler painted, headlights installed, find and beat the designer of the Protege's rear taillights, and maybe a new lip for the front. Here is one of the wheels, just multiply by 4;

The CP8 is listed as 17 pounds. The original 14" steel rims that use the hubcaps weigh 18lbs. Food for thought. Not fast food though, as we are reducing weight.
