I have been taking good care of my ride, she is only going on 4 years old, but sure have put alot of clicks on her. Should i be pouring money into upgrades or is she going to be on a Air intake respirator lol.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by "pouring money into...". Do you mean many thousands? Which would still be okay if you want more performance and/or more of a show car. No reason it can't go 200,000 miles (I'm metric challenged) or more with good care and occasional maint. When you think about it, if the body is still in good shape, for a few thousand bucks you can replace the engine and tranny and have an almost new car again. Cheaper than buying a whole new car.

As a daily driver, if it still runs fine you might as well add the common and cheaper mods to make your ride more enjoyable while you have it, until you get tired of it and need something new. When that point is.....well, that's a very personal decision based on many factors. BTW, my last car, a 14 yr old Civic lasted 140K miles at the point of needing major work, but by then we were sick of it and got the Protege.

But at a certain point (depending on the car and your area) there is a mileage point where the car is at it's lowest value, yet you can still trade it. After that point it's worth less and less to someone else, but more and more to you if it is running good- because in the mean time instead of car payments to the bank you can keep that amount in your monthly budget but put it instead into savings so the next car is that much cheaper. Or you can put a lot more down on a much more expensive car. Wouldn't it me nice to have a brand new STI and only owe $10K on it or pay for it all in cash?

140 is not a lot. My buddy has 300,000 miles on his 79 Civic wagon he bought brand new , never even had so much as the cyclinder head off.I have a Volvo with 279,000 on the clock. My sister got 195,000 out of her 280ZX before it needed major over haul.The wifes Mini-Van is at 130,000 miles and going strong. All these cars have one thing in common..... changing the oil and air filter regular makes them last forever. The money saved on payments allowed me to buy a used Protege cash. Japanese cars are hard to kill.
