~~~ 2.0L RPM Speed question (autotranny)
Just a general question to throw out there...
With Auto Transmission Proteges, what speed is your does your RPM gauge read when driving steady at 110 Kmph.
With the 2 littre engine.
Its funny I have to cars exact same year, same protege engine class, but spinning at two different RPM speeds at 110 kmph.
The cares have not had anything swapped or changed.
Anyone have an idea what is up?
My mazda Protege 2001 ES: is spinning at 2900 RPM
there is a friends Protege 2001 ES: is spinning at 2600 RPM
I ruled out power draining Electricals like A/C and others.
weight, aerodynamics, engine condition, tire size, sport-matic vs standard auto, etc.
True, but everything is pretty balanced, I have no under the hood mods,
the cars a pretty close to stock, with nothing drastic done to them, regular checkups too... There is nothing visible causing drag either. Tires are the same... Avid T4s, and regular standard Auto Trans
honestly the onkly thing I could think of is that factory guages aren't the most accurate. Thats why REAL racers use aftermarket guages.
gonna ask mazda what they think, although I don't want them to touch my car, both are over 100,000km, so I won't expect any kinda of service :(
