Will an intake for a P5 fit in an ES?

I just recently bought my 2002 ES, on Monday actually. I put a bid on this ebay generic intake, but I didn't notice it said P5. Will this fit in my car?

It's the same car.

YES.....the only difference between intakes for all the Pro models is.....that there is a specific intake for Manual trannies...and a different one for Autos.....otherwise.....its a match regarless of if you have a DX, LX, ES, MP3, or P5

There are separate intakes for autos and 5-speeds? I have an 02 ES 5-speed and want the Injen CAI from www.adventon.com and it does not specify in the title of the product which it is for. Should I look somewhere else for a manual tranny intake then just to be sure?

you are in luck...the one they are selling is for the manual tranny....its model RD6060. The letter after it only designates if its Polished, Red, or Blue.....

I just went out to my shop and looked at the documentation I got with my intake.....and verified the model/ID number.

that is a good price...I wish I had gotten MINE for that price.

Good Luck

The Injen Intake fits both autos and manuals, thus the only difference is color as Sir Nuke pointed out. The AEM intake is specific to auto or manual because of where the transmission sits in the engine bay. I bought my Injen from Adventon and have been very happy with it and their customer service. It's the best price you'll find anywhere on the Injen.

Thanks

I appreciate all the replys and will probably be ordering my Injen ASAP.

so let me get this straight, i can get any kinda intake from any model protege just as long as they have the same kinda transmission?

gcs118 January-12th-2003 05:44 PM

Probably not ANY model Protege, just your generation because I'm sure the engines and placements would have changed.

oh yeah im sorry, thats what i meant, same generation.

I just bought the eBay stuff (really for the piping, I already have a Monsterflow intake) for "2.0 ES". I noticed they were selling others
for "MP3/P5". I hope I didn't order the one for an automatic. I assumed
they were the same.... I'm hoping that the MP3 version wasnt for the
manual while the 2.0 version was for the auto. (I've got a 5 spd).
They better take it back if it doesnt fit.

I'm sure if it doesn't fit, you could MAKE it fit. What's brute force for anyways?
