Unbolting Exhaust (P5)

Has anyone ever unbolted their P5 exhaust? It seems like its easy to do right before the back right wheel. I used to do this on my Celica GT_S sometimes and ti was fun and i was wondering how it was on the p5 :P

Actually I did it twice :D

assuming no rust

Unbolting your exhaust is a snap, assuming your bolts aren't rusted on.

Of course, once the back section of your exhaust is unbolted, you've got to wiggle the muffler out of its rubber mounts.

But WD-40 eases both of these woes.

Here is a Web page about how I removed my exhaust:

Oh, i was just talking about unbolting it and leaving the pipes disconncted so the exhaust is really damn loud :P But it works just as easily i guess :P

I C
YOu have to unbolt the resonator before it gets loud I unbolted my muffler before i put the aftermarket one on and with no muffler at 5k RPM i coulnd't hear the exhaust what so ever b/c of the resonator. as soon as it drops below 5k it sounds sweet

Please stay out of my Garage if you use torque wrenches to take apart stuff!!

Ratchet and a wrench work just fine unless you have a air ratchet

i tried using a ratchet to unbolt my exhaust and it wouldn't budge. I broke 2 sockets with the torque wrench before the bolts ever broke loose

haha, when i was unbolting my celica, i was pushing really hard on the bolt while laying on my stomach, and when it finally gave, i smashed my face on my sideskirt and bounced back and hit my friend's face with the back of mine :P
