I've also heard Red Line has good transmission fluids, if you can't get a hold of Royal Purple. I use Red Line MT-90 in my gearbox (manual) and it's great.

macdaddyslomo Jun 28, 2004 10:48 AM

Yes Red Line is good stuff too, and not quite as expensive as RP....Royal Purple is like $9.99 a quart!!

You sure 8 quarts? I know it's for an auto and all, but my manual only takes 2.83 quarts...

mesx7828 Jul 1, 2004 09:23 AM

does anyone know how much fluid for auto 1999 Lx transmission?

Roddimus Prime Jul 1, 2004 09:42 AM

no way it takes 8qts....huge GMC turbo diesels only take 4qts.

Call your local Express Oil change and ask them how many quarts to fill it up. They have the charts there to tell them.
