Throttle Response

I just noticed this the other day when I was driving. I know some people have said things about the 2.0L's computer having different programs for WOT. I was playing around the other day and noticed that, if you hang the throttle at about 3/4 and then floor it, the car actually bogs down. I tried this a couple of times and always got the same response. However, if you go straight from say around 1/4 throttle to full it works just fine. Pretty damn weird if you ask me. Anyone else experienced this or know why?

I know my MP3 (FS-ZE) makes full torque around 4000 RPM. If I hang it around 1/4 throttle, It will gradually climb to this point. Then when I floor it, it is accually falling off from this peak torque (reving past 4000 RPM). When I dynoed my car, I noticed that it had a very sharp dip in power around 4500-4600 RPM. This may be an explanation for ya.

It doesn't really seem to be related to the torque curve. When I go 1/4 to full the needle moves nice and quick through the entire band up to redline. When I do it from 3/4 to full it moves slower. I'm flooring it around the same band of RPM (about 4k up) in third gear when I notice this.
