Throttle body
Anybody looked into larger diameter TBs for the ges? I was maybe thinking of seeing what they look like...I havent seen the underside of my hood but like twice sicne I've bought the car(only a week, so dont freak), so I'm thinking I gotta see what I'm looking at first...opinions on this???

throttle body
I just ported and polished the stock one. I coned the inner bore, knife edged the butterfly plate, removed half of the bar that holds the plate on(left the side with the threaded holes), counter sunk the screws, by-passed the coolant, and added the phenolic spacer. I noticed quite an increase in throttle response especially, and a greater increase at higher rpm when the secondaries open.
Tomorrow I am going to pull the intake manifold and do the same thing, along with the spacer and the j-spec intake cam. All together should be very complimentary. The spacers, along with a colder intake charge and more velocity should make up for the loss in low end torque from the cam. We will see. |
pure pro what kind of tool did you use to do the port and polish???

P&P
I used a die grinder for the big stuff and a dremel for the small stuff. I have done this to dozens of them, and have gotten nothing but good responses from everyone. It is cheap and effective in my book.

We have experimented with P&P throttle bodies and larger diameter throttle bodies (in Ford Foci)....no real HP 'gains' but throttle response is much better.
