Symptoms of failing slave cylinder? (clutch)
Hey, again. I posted a few days ago about my clutch feeling soft, and after talking to one of my friends I think it might be the slave cylinder going out.
Basically what happens is that the clutch just feels like it's not hooking up quickly or very firmly. But after it does, everything's fine--no slipping or anything. The car has made kind of a hydraulic groaning sound a few times when I press and release the clutch, but it's stopped lately. Thx, Adam |
I was always under the impression that groaning sound occurs when the input shaft bearing (pilot bearing/bushing?) is worn out.

Anyway, is it possible you may simply have air in your hydraulic lines? This wouldn't explain any "groaning", but does produce a soft "feel"... |
