squeaky clutch...

When I depress the clutch a squeky noise sometimes
can be heard. I lubed the pedal hinges and pushrod
a little, but don't know if thats where the squeak comes
from. Sometimes it goes away...lol It's not in the clutch
but rather in the mechanism....

Anybody know the cure....Really annoying....

If you have fixed the problem, what did ya lube??

thx

I had a similar problem when I first got mine. Turns out there was a little white switch that closes when the clutch is released. Anyways, in that switch is a spring that was making a sqeaking noise. I WD-40'd it and haven't had a problem since.

try lubing the slave cylinder...use white lithium grease....

^The slave cylinder is inside the tranny - do you mean the clutch master cylinder?

YES - IT'S FIXED!!!
Mazda 3 2005: I glued a thin clear plastic tube to a squeeze bottle and filled the thing up with heavy weight oil. I then wrapped the tube with a bendable wire so that I could bend the tube into a hook shape so that I could drip oil onto all the clutch-related joints that reside inside the car. Cramped up on the floor on my back with a flashlight in my mouth, I managed to put drops of oil on most of the moving parts. I still had a squeak. Then I managed to find a good position to allow me to drop oil on a spring mechanism that is sort of inside the whole mess of clutch parts (half the spring is encased in a white plastic) and that stopped the squeak. It's not easy to do, but if you can hold the clutch all the way down you can more easily squirt oil on the spring and on its mounting points. Put an old t-shirt or rag down on the floor - you will likely drip some oil while doing this.
