Sping loaded gated shifter?

Anyone out there know of a company that makes a gated shifter plate with adjustable spring (or without springs) stopping points.

If you know of one please let me know. This would be key and I beleive essential to the shifting of my P5.;)

Thank you!:D

What do you mean it is essential to shifting your P5?...

The G-15M-R (Like most other modern street boxes) is internally gated and the gates are fixed, so the shift length and stopping points are determined by the size of the shifter. This is why when you install a short shifter, the gates seem to be shorter...although they are the same size...it just takes less shifter movement...

Are you talking about an external gate, like that of some italian exotics? From what I remember those cars also have internally gated boxes and the gates in the consol are only there for tradition...FWIW they make it a bitch and a half to shift quickly...

Wouldn't that also cause wear inside the gearbox? I mean, they warn you not to rest your hand on the lever while driving, to keep a load off the linkage. Wouldn't a gate force the lever to stay in one place, instead of moving with the rubber mounts?
