Shift issues with short shifter installed

I installed the TWM Performance short shifter a couple weeks ago and I was wondering if anyone else had any issues with shifting into 2nd gear. At least for me, there are a number of times I'll try to shift into 2nd and get kinda stuck in neutral, like I missed the gate or something. It seems almost too notchy going into second, and though it's fine when I force it in, it's a little disconcerting for me to force the shifter into gears. I feel I shouldn't have to, but that's just me.

Is this something that improves with more time? Should I take the center console apart and add more grease to the pivot ball? Is something wrong? I'm just curious to see if anyone else has had this issue with short shifters. Otherwise, it's great.

i have the same problem going into 2nd. the others are a little tight too but i like the feel, i plan on just living with it, i know everything was installed correctly, its the leverage now thats making it like that. it looks too damn hot to part with anyways :X

I´ve been having the same issues with 2nd and sometimes with 4th, I´m planing to re-install the stock shifter for the 10.000km check up and have the dealer take a look at the tranny just to make sure that everything is alright.

I have the kart boy, btw.

its not damaging your tranny, its the leverage difference that you feel. but go for it, better safe than sorry i guess.

I don't notice anything and I have my TWM shifter on for about 2 weeks too. Perhaps, you should drive a few more weeks for it to loosen up a bit but I don't think it will much more. Otherwise, just work out on you right arm.

Hey thanks everyone for their 2 cents. It's actually smoothed out quite a bit since when I first posted and I'm loving it.
