Revving vibration question

So when I'm idling and I rev up the engine, from 1000 - 1400 rpm's, theres a slight vibration, I can feel it in the car and the dash... whats up with that? And when the revs come back down, again i can feel it from 1400 down to 1000 rpms... help... Thanks.

Not enough info.
1. Are you idling with the clutch pushed in, or do you have it in neutral? I am assuming that you are referring to the car in your sig, which is 5-speed.

2. Can you hear the vibration at all?

3. Does it do this when driving?

4. Is this a new thing?

5. Did this suddenly start or has it been slowly getting worse?

6. How many miles are on your car?

Have someone run the gas pedal while you listen and feel around the engine bay to try to locate the vibration. Use a long screwdriver or long extension as a "stethescope". I am suspecting an engine mount at this point, but I would think it would get worse while driving.

No clutch pushed in, just at idle in neutral. I cant hear it, just feel it, not a big one, just slight... doesnt do while driving, pretty smooth. Well I guess i just noticed it recently so now sure how long its been. Miles - close to 150k.
Im wondering if it needs a tune up... ?.?
Thanks for the info.

Try it with the clutch pushed in. That way you can eliminate the transmission. With the clutch out, tranny in neutral, the transmission internals are spinning. With the clutch pushed in, the tranny is not moving.

If it has been a while since your last tune-up, it can't hurt to do that.

i agree with the above posts, it might be that your car needs a tune-up.. also try to check your mazda engine mount.. it might need a replacement. give us an update regarding this matter.. good luck

With 150k miles, I bet most if not all of the motor mounts are worn out. The front is likely torn too.

check a site like www.onlinemazdaparts.com (choose the replacement/Mechanical parts catalog) to buy originals. You can send an e-mail to mazdapart@gmail.com if you have any questions regarding which part to buy, and the guy there (Jason) will get back to you.
